If you know me through a song, a cover or a video, I’m glad it brought you here. But there’s a lot of life behind what I share online. I’m Eric Sánchez - a husband, a father, a retired Air Force veteran and a singer, songwriter and producer from Puerto Rico. This is a little more of my story.

Born in Puerto Rico. Raised in a military family.

I was born in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. My father served 20 years in the Army, so growing up meant getting to know more than one place as home. After Puerto Rico, we lived in Arizona, Germany, Virginia and Texas. Eventually, his last duty station brought us back to Puerto Rico, at Fort Buchanan.

I graduated from high school in Puerto Rico. After all those moves, the island was still a big part of who I was - and it always will be. The people, the culture, the music and our family roots are things I carry with me wherever life takes me.

The Air Force—and the music that came with me

In 2000, I joined the United States Air Force. That became more than 20 years of service, eventually retiring as a Master Sergeant. My work was in logistics and distribution, with responsibilities that grew into leading and supporting large teams.

Music was part of that journey, too. In 2003, I produced my first album. Since then, I’ve continued creating as a singer, songwriter, and producer. Through different seasons of life, music has remained one of the ways I connect with people and share what’s on my heart.

These days, that connection also happens through collaborations, familiar songs and the little moments I share online. I love how a song can bring people together, even when we come from completely different places.

Loraine, Jasiel, and Emmalyn

Loraine and I married in 2004. Our son, Jasiel, was born in 2005. We moved to Washington State in 2007 and our daughter, Emmalyn - arrived in 2009. In 2024, our family moved from Washington to Florida, where we’re making this next chapter together.

Loraine is a teacher and Emma has her own love for music and creativity. Getting to share music with my daughter is something I treasure. And Jasiel has brought his own perspective, routines, and personality into our family’s story.

Jasiel is autistic. Being his dad is an important part of who I am, and it’s part of why you’ll sometimes see me describe myself as an autism dad. As he’s grown into adulthood, we’ve continued learning how to support his needs, respect who he is and think about his future. I want anything I share here to reflect that love and respect.

Behind the videos and the projects, we’re a family doing everyday life together. Those moments matter to me just as much as anything I release or create.

An MS diagnosis changed the way I approached my health

In 2020, while we were living in Washington, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. That became another part of my journey - one I hadn’t planned for. My health, my family, and how I spent my time took on a different kind of importance.

Faith has been part of how I’ve moved through that season. So has learning more about my health and making changes to my everyday routines, including nutrition and exercise. Staying active and being intentional about those habits remain important parts of my life.

Finding MS Hope

Along the way, I found MS Hope and the Best Bet Diet resources. They became part of my personal journey as I learned more about nutrition, exercise, and the habits I wanted to build into my day.

I want to share mshope.com because its resources are free. You can explore videos, checklists, recipes and educational materials without having to buy a program. If you or someone you love is looking for information, it’s a resource you can explore and discuss with your healthcare team.

What I share here is my experience with MS. Everyone’s course is different and my story isn’t a promise of the same outcome or a recommendation to stop or replace medical treatment. Decisions about MS care belong to you after conversations with a qualified healthcare professional.

Somewhere Still—and the memories we carry

Somewhere Still is my instrumental project that I just launched in September of 2026, built around warm piano, gentle guitars, atmospheric textures, and nostalgia. Its caption is simple: “Music for somewhere you’ve been before.”

Having called so many places home, I’m drawn to the way a sound can bring a feeling back. A familiar street. Childhood Saturday mornings. An ordinary moment with people you love. Somewhere Still gives me another way to explore those memories and leave room for yours, too.

Step into Somewhere Still

Still learning. Still creating.

This blog is where I want to share more of the life behind the music: family, faith, health, creativity and the things I’m learning along the way. There will be personal stories, a look behind my projects and a few things I enjoy enough to share. When something includes a paid partnership or an affiliate link, I’ll make that very clear. I only support products I truly use and enjoy.

I don’t have every part of the journey figured out. But I’m grateful to God for my family, for the opportunity to keep creating and for the people I get to connect with along the way. Thanks for being here and getting to know a little more of the person behind the music.
